Make soap, extract essential oil, and local soap making history

Access info

Soap making is a rare and very beautiful trade.

Learn to make beautiful handmade soap, using readily available kitchen tools, and extract essential oil and hydrosol from oil rich botanicals. There is a strong history of soap making in our local area, and although soap has been made from as early as 3000BC, its relevance is no less important today.

Class Detail

You will make oil and hydrosol from seasonal plant material, either lavender, eucalyptus, rosemary, or some other seasonal herb or foliage. This class will be divided between two activities: 1. soap making, 2. essential oil and hydrosol distillation.
