Factory Day 1916

Ballarat Engine and Machinery Preservation Society will host an exhibition of Ballarat manufactured engines and machinery from a century ago, to showcase the original Ballarat Factory Day stage in 1916.

In 1916, Factory Day attracted over 250 of Ballarat's manufacturers, who opened their doors to the people over Ballarat and the wider community. Those who didn't open and many who did brought examples of their goods to Sturt street. It is this open air celebration of Ballarat's manufacturing prowess that will be recreated in a small part. Working internal combustion engines and an operational Cowley Steam Roller will feature at this event, all of which were made in Ballarat.
