The City of Ballarat Municipal Brass Band

The City of Ballarat Municipal Brass Band is the proud winner of the 2025 and 2026 National Band Championship in D-Grade. 
 
We are a 30 piece, traditional Brass Band playing both brass instruments, including cornets, trombones, and basses, etc. plus percussion. 
  
We are a local group that has a rich heritage of providing music and entertainment to the citizens of Ballarat for over 130 years. 
 
You can often hear us out and about, at concerts in Ballarat, at the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, playing Christmas Carols along Sturt Street,  bugling at our local ANZAC day services and even as an annual fixture at the Meredith Music Festival. 
  
We are a non for profit group, with multiple bands, including our core band, our ‘Vintage’ Brass Band and our Development Band - in which we provide free instruments and tuition to anyone wanting to learn a brass instrument!) and members ranging from 8-80 years of age! 
  
We present a range of music from traditional marches and hymns and orchestral classics, to modern popular and movie music.
