Students from Ballarat High School band “Whizbang” are bringing the old tune beats to Ballarat, during the Ballarat Heritage Festival.
Whizbang are a 16-piece original big band comprising brass, woodwind, a rhythm section and vocalists, based at Ballarat High School.
The band has been in existence since 2000 and in that time has released nine studio albums and performed at festivals, community events, school concerts and touring shows.
All repertoire is student generated across a variety of genres from latin to pop to jazz and prides itself on the variety of original compositions.
The band is presently working on album number 10 which will be released in 2023 on vinyl.
