Take a poet’s eye view of downtown Ballarat and embark on a guided creative writing journey that makes the everyday magical.

Join poet, performer and artist Megan J Riedl on a walking tour around Ballarat, seeking out art to inspire your next literary creation.

Visit some of Ballarat’s eclectic art installations, lesser-known galleries and studios, historic buildings and monuments to prompt your poetic aspirations.

Along the way, Megan will inspire you with spoken word performances and provide materials, prompts and advice to tease out your own ekphrastic writing – writing that is inspired by art.

Finish the walk with a coffee or cocktail and grazing board whilst you work on your poetic creation to share with the group.

Megan J Riedl won the 2021 Arts Queensland XYZ Prize for Innovation In Spoken Word for her piece ‘Single White Female.’ She has also been a Victorian finalist for three consecutive years at the Australian Poetry Slam.
