This is a chance to see up close the wonderful illustrations of six of the significant Elms in the Ballarat Gardens, presented by the talented Botanical Art Group of the Friends of the Gardens.
There will be botanical displays showing amazing information about the Elms. Ballarat gardens have many mature and heritage examples and their significance is increased as a result of the Dutch Elm dis-ease pandemic in the northern hemisphere
Actively welcomes people with access needs.
The Ballarat Botanical Gardens are situated opposite Lake Wendouree. There is accessible parking at both ends of the garden. The terrain is flat making it easily accessible to wheelchair & mobility device users as well as slow walkers. The surface of the paths through the gardens is either asphalt or fine, hard packed gravel. There is some edging around the gardens that may require a step up. Seating is provided at regular intervals throughout the gardens, and there is a wheelchair accessible drinking fountain. Accessible toilets are provided at both ends of the garden adjacent to the accessible parking areas, including a Changing Places facility.
