The Ballarat Beard and Stache Competition is an annual event celebrating all forms of facial hair. There’s a category for everyone – whether it be a perfectly styled moustache or a beard big enough to get caught in your pants!
Hosted at the iconic Hop Temple, you’ll find an array of entertainment for competitors and spectators alike including live music, craft beer and plenty of delicious food.
The Ballarat Beard and Stache Competition is a highlight of the Ballarat Heritage Festival and showcases the rich history of Ballarat, its bearded pioneers and modern-day legends.
Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids)

Hop Temple is accessed via a bluestone laneway. The design is open, and it can be entered either through the side door or, when open, large double doors that open directly on to the lane. Ambulant toilet with side and rear bars and a padded backrest.
