As part of the Ballarat heritage festival, Sebastopol Historical Society will stage a special exhibition titled “Living as we learn – 150 years of state education in Sebastopol”. To celebrate 150 years since the passing of the education act which allowed for the establishment of the Sebastopol state/primary school.
The exhibition will feature photos, documents and objects from the school and its community. A co-event open day to visit the old and new schools, special assembly, and book launch at the new school will also be part of the celebrations on Saturday 20 May only.
The museum and collections will also be open on each day of the weekends from 10:00am till 4:00pm alongside the exhibition.
